my story
in july of 2018 my world was turned upside down when I lost my incredibly strong, remarkably kind and unbelievably optimistic mum, bronwyn, to breast cancer.
in the days after her passing my family and i received on outpour of love and support from the incredible humans around us; cooked meals, cards, flowers and care packages.
one of those special things I received was a handmade gift box from my bestie, labelled “a little box of sunshine”. it was filled with a range of golden goodies and a card explaining the yellow contents were carefully picked with intent to brighten my day.
fast forward to 2020, one afternoon I had the random thought of how amazing it would be to create 'little boxes of sunshine' to brighten other people's days, in honour of my mum. days later i headed to westfield to source all things yellow; i put together a box, took some photos and started an instagram page.
a little box of sunshine has been inspired by my beautiful bestie in my mum’s honour. my mum was the life of the party; her aura lit up an entire room. She was one of the most selfless, courageous and positive people you could ever meet; she filled the lives of everyone around her with so much positivity, kindness and warmth. i aim for these golden gift boxes to reflect the amazing person my mum was; spreading kindness, happiness & sunshine!
